I'm of indian decendent, I don't know anyone from my home country with 1.5M+ habitants (Mauritius) who plays this game. I think, well I'm sure, there are cultural reasons for which not many people of indian background don't play this game. I got into this game only after moving to England where there is close to NO distractions. Hence also reflected on the poor skill level or spread for indian players we see on voobly and pretty much in any online games. Maybe things will change in the future, but I wouldn't count on it.

Ritesh.

Yeah, I don't think there's really any serious gaming scene in India, much less an online one. It might be partly because loads of people there prefer other forms of entertainment (namely soap operas, films and sport) over computer games, partly because gaming is seen only as a hobby and not as something competitive, and partly because of rather comparatively slow Internet service providers here. Until these change to a degree I don't think competitive gaming will take off seriously there and the Indians won't have their Daut, Tim or Yo.

Also I hope people wishing to post in Hindi could use multilingual keyboards and actually type their words using the right characters. Makes it less confusing to read.
